Professor Dr. M. H. Faruquee, MBBS (Rajshahi Medical College, 1986) and MPH in Occupational & Environmental Health (NIPSOM, 1997), is Professor and Head at BUHS. He has 24 years of research experience, over 16 years of teaching (14 at university level), and 25 years in administration.
His research spans occupational and environmental health, nutrition, disability services, and community development. Dr. Faruquee has contributed to books such as Health Impact Assessment of Air Pollution and Hepatitis B Virus Infection Among Garment Workers, and has edited Arsenic, Water Contamination and Health Hazards.
He developed numerous training modules on health and environment and worked as a consultant with WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, ADB, World Bank, DANIDA, DFID, JICA, WaterAid, World Vision, and GIZ. He is Life Member of BMA, Bangladesh Private Medical Practitioners Association, Public Health Association, and BAPA, and serves as General Secretary of Doctors for Health and Environment. He was Assistant Executive Editor of BMA Journal.

With 16 years of experience in construction, he has expertise in Health, Environment, and Safety (HSE) as well as engineering roles.
He began his career at Incepta Pharmaceuticals in 2009 before joining Chevron Bangladesh as an HSE Specialist in 2012, where he later became Lead HSE Specialist. In 2015, he served as HOD at Next Spaces Ltd., then rejoined Chevron in 2019 as an O&M Competency Trainer. In 2022, he joined Dekko ISHO Group as Operations Manager and later ADC (Aviation Dhaka Consortium) under Samsung C&T as HSE Manager.
He has trained extensively in safety and collaborated with engineers from over 30 countries, enhancing global project standards.

Mr. Atiqur Rahman holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Jashore University of Science and Technology and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University, where he also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in ICT. He is certified in NEBOSH, IOSH, EOSH, and Environmental Sustainability and is a lead auditor for ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety). Additionally, he has specialized training in chemical management, and Arc GIS.
Mr. Rahman has served as a trainer in various environmental management domains. His professional career includes roles as National Environmental Specialist at the Jamuna Railway Bridge Project under IHI Infrastructure Systems (Japan) and Environmental Manager/Specialist at HSIA Terminal 3 under Aviation Dhaka Consortium (ADC). He has also worked on Metro Rail (Line-6 CP-2) with ITD-Synohydro JV and contributed to projects with Asia Arsenic Network, DSCL, and EQMS.
